About Me

Emily has a comprehensive background in teaching art with a broad age range. She has taught in multiple museums, galleries and art centers throughout her early career as a docent, educational assistant, and an intern. She was chosen as one of Queer Eye Star, Jonathan Van Ness's "10 Featured Teachers" on Instagram and was featured on a news segment. Because of this great honor, Emily received thousands of donated supplies to her classroom. She is a multifaceted artist with a focus in the areas of Printmaking, Ceramics, Sculpture, Painting and Art History.

Her teaching pedagogy tailors lessons to current topics and artists due to her love of art history and its importance in the artmaking process. She strives to include major historical movements as well as contemporary artists. Her belief is that the process of making is more meaningful than the final product. Therefore, risk-taking, purposeful play and visual problem solving are of highest value. Most importantly, she knows that any learner must feel safe, welcomed, understood and heard to create. She is an enthusiastic collaborator and team player with innovative ideas she can bring to the workplace.
